Line-up for IEM New York Finalized

This weekend concluded all regional closed qualifiers for the earlier announced IEM New York 2020, finalizing the tournament’s line-up.

The qualifiers for North America and CIS featured eight teams each, while the European qualifier had only four participants. All qualifiers followed a double-elimination format with best-of-three series.

The first place in the European qualifiers was secured by Heroic, who managed to beat x6tence (2-0) in the semifinals and OG (2-0) in the upper bracket finals. Meanwhile, OG outplayed PACT twice, both times with the 2-1 score – first in the semifinals and then in the lower bracket finals.

The best results in the CIS qualifier were shown by K23 (ex-Syman Gaming) and forZe – in the upper finals they outplayed HellRaisers (2-0) and Ethereal (2-0) respectively. In the lower bracket finals Ethereal defeated iG International (2-1), while Cyber Legacy outplayed HellRaisers (2-0).

In the upper bracket finals of the North American qualifier Team One defeated Positive Vibes (2-0), while Ze Pug Godz were stronger than Kinship (2-0). Later both of the team also lost in the lower bracket finals, to Yeah Gaming (0-2) and NE Whalers (1-2) respectively.

The main event is scheduled to start on October 6th in all regions. The European division will feature eight teams competing for a $140,000 prize pool. Meanwhile, both the CIS and the North American divisions are the RMR-events with 12 teams in each, with $60,000 and $50,000 at the stake respectively. The list of invited teams looks as follows:
