The Play-In stage of 2020 League of Legends World Championship has finalized the line-up of the main event – in the finals of the second round, Unicorns of Love outplayed SuperMassive Esports, while LGD Gaming defeated Legacy Esports. Both series ending with the 3-0 score. Earlier Team Liquid and PSG Talon advanced to the main event thanks to placing first in their groups in second round.

The main event will begin with a group stage, which will be played on October 3rd – 6th and 8th – 11th. The stage will feature four groups with a double round-robin format and best-of-one series. The teams have been split into the groups as follows:

The best two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, while the rest will be eliminated. The playoffs stage will feature eight teams competing in a single elimination bracket with best-of-five matches. The regular matches will be played on October 15th – 18th and 24th – 25th, while the grand finals will be held on October 31st at Pudong Football Stadium in Shanghai.
