G2 Esports Place First at LEC 2020 Summer

G2 Esports have become the champions of the Summer Split of League of Legends European Championship (LEC). In the tournament’s grand finals they outplayed Fnatic. Both of them secured their places in the group stage of 2020 World Championship, while the teams placed third and fourth – Rogue and MAD Lions – will participate in the Play-In Stage.

G2 Esports finished the regular season at the third place and thus advanced to the playoffs upper bracket. There they outplayed MAD Lions (3-1) in the semifinals, however lost to Fnatic (2-3) in the winners’ finals and dropped to the lower bracket, where they managed to beat Rogue (3-2). In the grand finals they avenged their previous loss, ending the series with the 3-0 score.

Currently LCK is the only still ongoing regional league. With the conclusion of most of the leagues, we now know almost all participants of 2020 Worlds, and the list looks as follows:
