CS:GO Gets Trusted Mode to Combat Cheating

In their attempt to combat cheating, Valve have added a new feature to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The mode forbids unsigned third-party software to interact with the game’s client.

The Trusted Mode is enabled by default. To play the game with unsigned third-party software, players can specify the “-insecure” command in the launch options. However, the developers warn that this action may negatively affect Trust score.

The developers also enabled backwards compatibility to version “1.37.5.9” for players experiencing issues with the newest version of the game. According to the feedback from players on Reddit, multiple users have been experiencing FPS drops and freezes since the new update. Besides that, some popular software, e.g. NVIDIA Freestyle or OBS Game Capture, no longer work with CS:GO with Trusted Mode enabled.
