APEX Legends: Season 6 ‘Boosted’ Is Live
The new sixth season of APEX Legends is now live at all platforms. Besides the earlier revealed features, such as the new legend Rampart, crafting system, Volt SMG, and significant changes to World’s Edge, the update includes a number of loot and legends changes to shake up the meta.
One of the biggest changes of the update is the adjustment of the armor – from now on all usual armor in the game is Evo Armor, which is boosted by doing damage. As part of the ground loot, players can find White, Blue, and Purple armor. Meanwhile, Red Evo armor can only be achieved through evolving. Gold Armor remains in the game and is the only armor which cannot evolve. Besides that, all players now automatically spawn with Level 0 Evo Armor. The developers also adjusted the amount of damage needed to evolve the armor – 50 damage to white, 125 to blue, 250 to purple, and 500 to red.
The update also includes multiple other changes to the loot table. The developers reintroduced Extended Energy Mags and Tourbocharger Hop-up, while Precision Choke is now integrated into Triple Take and cannot be found on the ground. As for the Supply Drop loot, there R99 replaced Devotion. The list of fully kitted weapons has also been completely changed – now it includes Devotion, Mastiff, Triple Take, Flatline and Volt.
Speaking about the legends balance, this update the developers focused on the Recon class, which includes Bloodhound, Crypto and Pathfinder. Now all these characters can interact with Survey Beacons to discover the next ring location – earlier only Pathfinder was able to do it. The developers acknowledge that this change makes Pathfinder less unique, and are working on adding new features to his kit in future. In the meantime, Pathfinder now decreases the cooldown of his ultimate by 10 second when using the beacons. Besides that, Bloodhound now has a decreased cooldown of his tactical ability when the ultimate is active, while Crypto now can respawn allies and use beacons from his drone.
The developers have also touched some other legends. Namely, the cooldown for Loba’s ultimate was reduced from 3 to 1.5 minutes, Bangalore’s ultimate cooldown was decreased from 4.5 to 3 minutes, while Gibraltar’s ultimate cooldown was increased from 3 to 4.5 minutes. Besides that, the developers nerfed to combo of Wraith’s and Revenant’s ultimates – now when you are recalled to Death Totem, you cannot enter the portal for two seconds.
Of course, these are not all changes of the update! To learn more about the sixth season, head over to the official website.
