100 Thieves Leave CS:GO After IEM XV New York
Founder and CEO of 100 Thieves Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag has announced that his organization will leave CS:GO scene after the conclusion of the currently ongoing IEM XV New York. However, it is possible that eventually the organization will decide to return to the scene.
The North American organization 100 Thieves re-entered the CS:GO scene last October by acquiring a complete roster from Renegades. Right after that the team showed great performance at IEM XIV – Beijing, where they placed second. However, since then the team has been showing less impressive results.
It was not the lack of success however that forced the organization to part ways with the team – 100 Thieves are based in the United States, while the mostly Australian squad was not able to gather in the US for a bootcamp. Moreover, most of the upcoming big CS:GO tournaments will be held offline in Europe, including IEM XV – Global Challenge in Cologne, Germany and FLASHPOINT Season 2 in London, UK. Since 100 Thieves would not be able to support the team in Europe, they decided to part ways with the players and help them to find a new organization.
Currently the team still represents 100 Thieves at IEM XV New York: NA – as of now, they are at the top of Group B with the 3-1 score. Later tonight they will face Mythic in their final series within the group stage (0:30 AM UK time).
